“Touching tales of smitten stalkers, wooing at the water-cooler and a chocoholic with a vendetta against a vending machine”

In Short Productions

Touching tales of smitten stalkers, wooing at the water-cooler and a chocoholic with a vendetta against a vending machine Homemade Fusion is a collection of compositions featuring a wealth of witty, touching and most importantly, real characters: to name but two. With a score that's absorbing and engaging storytelling at its finest, it has a truly universal appeal. Each song, telling its own affecting and entertaining story, provides the audience with an intimate snapshot into the characters’ attempts to juggle the pressures of contemporary life: love, lust, loss and longing. Exemplary of Kooman and Dimond’s critically acclaimed contribution to a new generation of musical theatre, Homemade Fusion’s convincing intimacy and assured charisma make it one of the most adept pieces of new musical writing. Last year, the duo received the Jonathan Larson Award, which honours emerging composers, lyricists and book writers, as well as being inducted into the Dramatists Guild Fellowship.

Steering clear of jazz hands and cheesy grins, they favour instead nuanced and detailed performance work to create absorbing and affective entertainment. In an age of spectacle, In Short aims for honesty and simplicity, looking to engage a wide range of audiences through committed and convincing storytelling. Following a tremendous debut at last year’s Fringe with Pasek & Paul’s Edges, In Short Productions returns to Edinburgh with the panache, maturity and energy that was so revered last year, winning them a ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award.
