SUMMARY

In a Galway farmhouse the Connor brothers have returned from their father’s funeral and are arguing about felt tip pens. They live perpetually at war – bickering, wrestling, reading Woman’s Own, and occasionally grabbing the shotgun off the wall. Father Welsh, who coaches the girls’ under-12 football team, tries unsuccessfully to reconcile them.

However, when he raises the stakes in an act of desperation, the brothers start to confess every wrong they’ve ever done to one another. They start with harmless admissions of urinating in unattended pint glasses, but things soon get more explosive.

Martin McDonagh’s (In Bruges) play is dark, hilarious, filthy, tragic and absurd. A play for people who don’t like plays. Come see what happens when you ruin someone’s life then laugh while you’re apologising.
