SUMMARY

When Antigone defies the state by burying the corpse of her brother she sparks a chain of events that can only end in tragedy. Sophocles’s sensationally charged original is brought to life in a new version where some of the most important questions of our lives are examined. Do we really have control over our actions? Can destiny and free will exist simultaneously? Must the state always be obeyed, irrespective of the cost to the individual? This savagely human story retains its wonderful moments of comedy and with the incorporation of live music and physical theatre this promises to be a dynamic retelling of a true classic.
