Twelfth Night

Tue 4th – Sat 8th Dec 2012

“Twelfth Night is arguably Shakespeare's most loved comedy.”

Combined Actors of Cambridge

Twelfth Night is arguably Shakespeare's most loved comedy.

The play's title sets it firmly in the pagan festival of mis-rule, where reality is turned on its head; where the impossible love that Viola, disguised as a man, bears for Orsino and Olivia bears for Viola vies with Orsino's unrequited love for Olivia. Surely it would take a miracle to allow impossible love to be changed in an instant and bring an end to the period of misrule, so that all characters can be happily united.

Twelfth Night is riotous and joyful, and carefully laced through with darker tones: the subtitle 'Or What You Will' allows us to find a perfect holiday season romp.

Simply staged in period dress, it will be a pre-Christmas treat!

Admission: £7 – £10
