SUMMARY

There is something seriously amiss in the Brewster family... Set in 1940s Brooklyn, Arsenic and Old Lace paints the idyllic portrait of two elderly spinsters who drink tea, gossip, knit…and murder. With only their deranged brother ‘Teddy Roosevelt’ for company the nefarious pair chance upon lonely old gentlemen who turn up on their doorstep, poisoning them with elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine and just a ‘pinch’ of cyanide.

Their nephew Mortimer seeks to place the blame for the pile of bodies on Teddy while the murderous brother Jonathan Brewster turns up with his plastic surgeon-cum-alcoholic sidekick Dr Einstein.

As the body count grows in equal proportion to the hilarity and shocking wickedness, Joseph Kesselring's greatest play will leave you both chilled and entertained.
