Richard McNally

Richard began his relationship with theatre with a passion for acting. In 2006 he worked with Ipswich-based professional theatre company, Red Rose Chain, acting in their ‘Theatre in the Forest’ production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was at this time that Richard gained interest in outdoor and site-specific theatre. In 2008, whilst at university Richard acted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Cambridge University theatre company, The Penbrooke Players. He played Merlin in their production of “Rex Futurus”, an original play about King Arthur. Since graduating from university, Richard has worked with BAFTA winning writer Phil Vasili, acting in his play, “The Crack”.

Richard has gradually been shifting his interests towards directing and producing. He has directed each of the plays that the Poppard Youth Theatre Group and The Loyal Shakespeare Company have produced over the years. As well as heading up Twisted Willow Theatre, Richard is currently employed in the production department of Cambridge Touring Theatre.
